Delete your Symkura account
You can delete your account at any time, in the app or without the app by email. This removes all data linked to your account on our server, photos included.
- App
- Symkura: Pain & Symptom Diary on Google Play, Symkura: Pain Diary on the App Store
- Provider
- MakeByte, Benjamin Straatmann
Thamaschstraße 2, 86687 Kaisheim, Germany - Deletion requests
- [email protected]
Without the app: by email
Email [email protected] from the address you use to sign in to Symkura and ask us to delete your account. You need neither the app nor your password.
We then delete your account and all data linked to it on our server, just as deleting in the app does.
Please write from your account's address so we can match the request to your account.
In the app
- Open the “More” tab at the bottom.
- Under “My Account”, tap your email address.
- Choose “Delete account and data”.
- Confirm “Delete account?” with “Delete”.
The app deletes the data on our server right away and then signs you out.
Before you delete
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not cancel an active Symkura Pro subscription; Apple or Google Play will keep billing it. Please cancel it first in your Apple subscription settings or in your Google Play subscriptions.
Open Google Play subscriptions
Take your data with you
Before you delete, you can export everything in the app as CSV and as PDF.
What is deleted
- Your account: email address and password (stored only as a hash)
- All entries with pain intensity, body regions, triggers, mood, sleep, medications and notes, plus cycle and weight if you logged them
- All photos
- Your imported doctor appointments (title, time and location)
- Your usage statistics, if you had turned them on
What is kept
- The data on your phone, until you delete it in the app or remove the app
- Server logs with IP address, timestamp and request type, for 14 days
- Contributions to Community Insights: they are stored under a random device token that is not linked to your account, so deleting the account does not remove them. If you first turn off “Contribute anonymous data” under “More”, the app removes this phone's contributions.
- An active subscription with Apple or Google Play, until you cancel it
